Welcome

Where have you been? It's alright we know where you've been. You've been in the pipeline, filling in time, Provided with toys and scouting for boys. You bought a guitar to punish your ma, And you didn't like school, And you know you're nobody's fool, So welcome to the machine.

Open your eyes...

In Vanilla Sky, Tom Cruise probably woke up hearing those words to find a naked Penelope Cruz or a naked Cameron Diaz with him.

I didn't hear those words, neither did I wake up to find any of those beautiful ladies in bed and naked! I saw the umbrella resting against a doorway and the amazingly soothing sound of raindrops on my window.

My tea's gone cold, I'm wonderin why
'got out of bed at all.
Mornin' rain clouds out my window.
And I can't see at all.
Even if I could, it would all be gray,
but your picture on my wall:
It reminds me that it's not so bad, it's not so bad

Rain season in Islamabad

Its raining here! Amazing weather! I love the rainy season. The pictures are kinda dark although its around noon time. I didn't adjust the exposure because I want the viewer to get a feel of how it really felt like. You'll miss the details of the scenery but the focus is more on the feel of the whole environment! Enjoy that!

But for the first time I felt guilty of that. Post earth-quake scenario has changed a lot that is happening around. With these rains pouring down, it means the already flimsy routes to the worst hit area of Kashmir may disappear due to landslides. The weather is going to get colder and people who have lost their homes are exposed to the environment. It just makes you sad to know that so many people have lost so much.

Muslim Commercial Bank: F-6 Markaz Branch

... and that was the back of the ATM ...

They have renovated the branch now. But this is what it used to look like at one time!

And the best part was that the whole stupid process was manual! People scribbling into registers (like it was 1699!!!). It took HALF AN HOUR just to get a pay order or something like that done.

More Sharda

After the morning trek I had digested my breakfast and came back to my room. Then I started up a conversation with a local who told me about the rich history of the place. I was thoroughly impressed with his knowledge and the wonderful historical perspective with which I saw that place then. I will put in more info about the place soon.

Sharda

After breakfast I took a walk around Sharda and just took in the beauty of the whole valley. At some points I could not take pictures because of security reasons (there being sensitive military installations).
